Wow, Congratulations for making it to the last week!! I hope you have learned a ton so far and are already starting to see your business grow! I know I am!
This week, we will be focusing on the basics of having an effective marking strategy, and what that really looks like. We will begin today with email marketing.
Your challenge today is to create an email opt in box that draws subscribers. It is best to use the freebie you created earlier in our challenge as your opt in. The ideal spots for an opt in box are the top, sidebar, and bottom of your website. You can also choose to have a pop up box that appears after a certain time limit or upon entrance and exit.
It is completely up to you where you decide to put your opt in box, but you should aim to have it at least two or three places on your website. This is just my personal opinion but entrance pop ups are pretty annoying. I never opt in to a website with one and actually immediately click them off. This does not mean that I do not later subscribe, but I never do at the beginning. I like to take my time getting to know whether I really like a blog or website before I just opt in. You just can't do that in the first 5 seconds on a site.
Another thing to check with entrance pop ups is how mobile responsive they are. Many times, I have found a cool article to read only to blocked by a pop up that I can't figure out how to close. I get so frustrated trying to close it, that I leave the site and am never able to read the cool article. You definitely don't want to loose traffic by annoying pop ups.
In order to complete today's challenge you must have an autoresponder like GetResponse. They are personal favorite because of their easy to figure out site, amazing customer service, and all the incredible features they provide for even the basic members. If you sign up through this affiliate link, you get a $30 bonus.
After you have your email provider all set up, you will have to follow the instructions on how to create an opt in form. If you have a Wordpress blog, you will also need to put in plug ins. These articles can help you with that. How to Create an Irresistible Opt- in Box and Plugins Needed for an Opt in Box
The second step in the challenge is extremely easy but also something that you have to do through your email provider.
